Mike Macdonald is not treating the Seattle Seahawks‘ “Hard Knocks” appearance as a distraction. Speaking about the team’s upcoming debut on the series, Macdonald said the cameras are welcome, but the identity stays intact. His message, as reported by NBC Sports, was simple: “We are proud of who we are and how we do things.“
When the cameras arrive to film a franchise that just won a championship, Macdonald wants people to understand that the pressure to defend a title is real. The last thing the coach or his players need is a sideshow that hinders their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champions.
Just Second Super Bowl Champ Featured
This marks only the second time a defending Super Bowl champion has appeared in the training-camp version of Hard Knocks after the Baltimore Ravens in 2001. The series is set to premiere earlier than usual on August 4, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO Max, launching before the Hall of Fame Game.
